Barterie is run by Zigital Automations, a sole trader business in New South Wales, Australia (ABN 15 276 289 300). Using the app means you accept what is on this page. It is written to be read, not to be impressive.
What this is
A noticeboard where people offer things and skills, and swap them directly. We are not a party to your swap. We do not check, hold, insure, value, ship or guarantee anything anybody lists. The agreement is between the two of you.
There is no money in the product: no payments, no credits, no tokens, no valuations. Anyone asking you to send money is not using the app as intended, and you can report them.
Your account
- You need to be 18 or over to use Barterie. Signing in is your confirmation that you are.
- Use your own Google account, and a name people would recognise.
- One account per person.
- You are responsible for what you post and what you agree to.
What you list
- List only what you actually have, and describe it honestly.
- Do not list anything on the house rules prohibited list, or anything you are not legally allowed to hand over.
- Use your own photos. By uploading them you let us show them in the app while your listing is up.
- You keep ownership of everything you write and photograph.
- Reviews must be about a swap that happened and honest about it. We can hide a review that is abusive, made up, or about something other than the swap.
Swaps, and what they are worth
A swap is worth whatever the two of you agree it is worth. We do not price anything, and we do not mediate disagreements about value.
Bartering can still have tax consequences, especially if you are trading as a business. In Australia the ATO treats barter transactions like any other income or expense. That is between you and your accountant, not something we track.
Moderation
We can hide a listing, hide a review, or close an account that breaks these terms or the house rules. Listings are archived rather than deleted so past swaps still make sense. If we close your account you can ask us why.
Liability
We provide the app as it is, and we do our best to keep it running. We are not liable for what people do offline: what they hand over, what condition it is in, whether they turn up, or what happens when you meet. We are not a second-hand dealer: nothing listed here passes through our hands. Nothing on this page removes rights you have under Australian Consumer Law.
Changes and closing your account
These terms will change as the product does, and the date at the top will change with them. You can stop using Barterie at any time and ask us to delete your account.
